OUR BACKGROUND

Dawid Potgieter completed his B.Arch degree in 1994 at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (formerly the University of Port Elizabeth).
His early career took him across South Africa, with two years in Pretoria followed by five years in Limpopo, gaining broad project exposure and regional experience.
RISE Architects was founded in 2001 as a partnership with a long‑time colleague and friend. After a restructure in 2009, the practice has continued to grow under Dawid’s leadership, with a long‑term focus on expanding capacity, staying current, and delivering large, complex projects with confidence.
Our selected work reflects the firm’s versatility, attention to detail, design strength, and strong team‑leadership culture. Dawid’s leadership is supported by advanced back‑office systems and a skilled operational team led by Stephan Smit, ensuring efficient, predictable project delivery.
